Crossing a log bridge on our trek through the Maliau Basin rain forest. The jungle is tough. The morning this photo was taken we saw the destruction an elephant caused last month on what would have been our camp because her baby got stuck underneath. On this bridge, I had no idea that the next day’s 16.7 km walk would be so brutal. I am very grateful for ropes and rangers who tie really good knots. Also, for head torches because we trekked at night. Also, for Matthew who, unlike some people who travel across the planet to kill big things, takes us to see and do amazing things and always in a way that supports local businesses, social/community enterprise, and real eco-tourism. The world needs more Matts. More photos to come. Mostly of insects, fungi, vines, and pitcher plants.
