
Breath. I was living abroad, obsessed with the daily AQI (Air Quality Index) and the complexity of living for extended periods of time with air deemed “unhealthy” to “hazardous.” I thought about the respiratory system, its automatic nature, and our human capacity to override it. The result was a three-part study consisting of anatomical cross-section paper cuts, an anatomical flap book, and an animated (projected) pop-up book.
